In the heart of Portland,
with a heart for Portland

WHO WE ARE

Immanuel Christian Fellowship in Portland, Oregon is a local church family.
We are a teaching church. Our key focus has always been studying the Word of God and growing in His likeness.

We are a dedicated and committed group of 25-40 believers who want to grow. We want growth in quality of Christian’s life and service, and we desire to expand outreach to our community. We have specific mission involvement in Mexico and India.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We believe we are saved by the Grace of God and that His Holy Spirit dwells in us, equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. We are committed to missions in other lands, as well as the community where God has placed us, and to bringing people to Jesus Christ so that they may receive Him as their Lord and Savior.

OUR FOUNDATION

Our church heritage is rooted firmly in the Reformed tradition, and belief in the active ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Our approach to Scripture is non-dispensational, and committed to the Five Solas of the Reformation: Scripture alone, Faith alone, Grace alone, Christ alone, and Glory to God alone.

We believe in the essential importance and the autonomy of the local congregation, although we are committed to working in harmony with other churches.

OUR FACILITY

The Lord has blessed us with a wonderful building, built in 1938. The fellowship hall, classrooms and offices were updated in 1999, and the sanctuary remodeled in 2004. Currently, we accommodate several other ministries in our building.

WE SEEK IN A PASTOR

We would like our Pastor to be strong in Bible teaching with the goal of raising up and equipping men and women in the Lord, continuing our traditions of Reformed Theology and Congregationalism.

Our Pastor should believe in the active ministry of the Holy Spirit. He should be one who displays by example what it means to be a shepherd of the flock and therefore able to train leaders from within the congregation, enabling others to find their gifts and avenues of service.

We are family here and our Pastor would be one of us, approachable and available. He would invest time and resources to guide us to a full and maturing relationship with the Lord.
